Your Account
Account Creation
To use Firecut, you need to create an account with accurate information. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
Account Security
Choose a strong password and keep it secret. If you suspect your account has been compromised, let us know immediately. We'll help you secure it.
One Person, One Account
Each account should represent one person. Don't create multiple accounts or share your account with others to circumvent our limits or policies.
Using Firecut
Acceptable Use
You can use Firecut to create and manage links for legitimate purposes. This includes:
- Marketing campaigns and social media
- App deep linking and user onboarding
- Analytics and performance tracking
- Any other lawful business or personal use
What's Not Allowed
Don't use Firecut for anything harmful, illegal, or that violates others' rights:
- Spam, phishing, or malicious content
- Illegal activities or content
- Harassment, hate speech, or discrimination
- Copyright or trademark infringement
- Attempting to hack or abuse our systems
- Creating links to malware or dangerous sites
Service Limits
Each plan has usage limits (number of links, clicks, etc.). If you exceed your limits, we may temporarily restrict your account or ask you to upgrade your plan.
Your Content and Data
You Own Your Data
The links you create, the data you upload, and the analytics we generate for you remain yours. We don't claim ownership of your content.
License to Operate
You give us permission to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide our service. This includes creating short links, generating analytics, and backing up your data.
Data Deletion
If you delete your account, we'll delete your data according to our Privacy Policy.
Payment and Billing
Free and Paid Plans
We offer both free (coming soon) and paid plans. Free plans have usage limits, while paid plans offer more features and higher limits.
Payment Terms
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. If your payment fails, we'll try to contact you and may temporarily suspend your account until payment is resolved.
Refunds
We do not offer refunds, yet we want you to be happy with Firecut. If you're not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of payment of an annual subscription or 3 days of payment for monthly subscriptions and we'll do our best to work out a fair solution.
Plan Changes (coming soon)
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan anytime. Upgrades take effect immediately, while downgrades take effect at your next billing cycle.
Our Service
Availability
We work hard to keep Firecut running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. We'll do our best to minimize downtime and notify you of any planned maintenance. SLAs are available for Enterprise customers. To reassure you, Firecut is built using Microsoft Azure which provides about 99.95% uptime.
Service Changes
We may update Firecut with new features, improvements, or changes. We'll notify you of significant changes that affect how you use the service.
Support
We provide support through our contact form for all paid plans. We're also working on adding more support features like chat, email, and phone support to higher-tier plans.
Intellectual Property
Our Rights
Firecut, including its software, technology, logo, and all related materials (“Platform IP”), is protected by intellectual property laws. We and our licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Platform IP. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Firecut as described in these Terms, only for your lawful personal or business purposes.
You may not copy, modify, create derivative works of, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of our Service, except as permitted by law or with our written permission.
Respecting Others' Rights
You must not use Firecut in a way that infringes upon or violates the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe content on Firecut violates your intellectual property rights, please notify us. Upon receiving a valid complaint, we may remove or disable access to the infringing content.
Third-Party Content
Some parts of Firecut may use third-party software, libraries, or content. These are subject to their own license terms, and you agree to comply with any such terms as we disclose them to you.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of Firecut in violation of someone else's intellectual property rights.
No Sublicensing
You may not sublicense, assign, or transfer any rights granted to you under these Terms to any other person or entity without our written consent.
Takedown Procedure
We respond to valid intellectual property complaints in accordance with applicable law. We reserve the right to remove or disable access to content alleged to be infringing and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
Privacy and Security
We take your privacy seriously. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using Firecut, you agree to our privacy practices.
Limitation of Liability
We provide Firecut "as is" and can't guarantee it will always work perfectly. While we'll do our best to provide a reliable service, we can't be held liable for any damages that might result from using (or not being able to use) our service.
Termination
Your Right to Leave
You can stop using Firecut and delete your account anytime. We'll be sad to see you go, but there are no cancellation fees or penalties.
Our Right to Terminate
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in harmful behavior. We'll try to work with you to resolve issues before taking drastic action.
Dispute Resolution
If we have a disagreement, let's try to work it out directly first. Most issues can be resolved through friendly communication.
For legal disputes, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein. The parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
Other Legal Terms
Disclaimer of Warranties
We provide Firecut as-is, without any guarantees or implied warranties. We do not guarantee merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Force Majeure
We are not responsible for issues caused by events outside our control, like natural disasters, war, or major internet outages.
Export Laws
You agree to follow all applicable export and re-export laws when using Firecut.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms occasionally to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. We'll notify you of significant changes and give you time to review them before they take effect.
